Skipper seems to be the principal voice of commonsense and at present a one-man opposition. The Liberal Democrats proposal for the county council to produce a newspaper funded out of taxes is outrageous but is entirely in keeping with their support of the Labour and Conservative parties wish to have their parties funded out of taxpayers' money.

We are just fed up with the party games played by the Lib/Lab/Con coalition who now stand for nothing decent and expect taxpayers to pay. After all, the Lib Dems main contributor was an overseas businessman whose main business was never in this country. He is now in prison for fraud. They should not have been allowed to keep the money but the Electoral Commission failed to pursue the dodgy funding, just as it failed to pursue the Conservatives for their dodgy loans and Labour for their sale of honours.

There are a variety of perfectly satisfactory newspapers in the area and one only has to see the latest Lib Dem news-sheets to see how inaccurate a publication from a council controlled by them would be. When the sun shines its due to them, if it rains it's someone elses fault.
