A flushing restaurant has beaten stiff competition from the region's biggest gastronomic centres, to be named as the best rising star of South West England's restaurant scene.
The Sticky Prawn, situtated on Flushing Quay, was yesterday honoured with a prestigious Rmy Martin Restaurant Award - the dining honours based on the views of thousands of paying customers.
The Sticky Prawn's recipe for success that impressed diners, included its passion for speciality seafood dishes using fresh and locally caught seafood, its relaxed atmosphere and quality of service.
Paul Lightfoot, owner of the successful restaurant, said: "We are thrilled to win the Rmy Martin award for the South West as it's based on the views of customers. Considering the size of the South West and the number of renowned and high-profile restaurants, it's wonderful that a small, provincial restaurant striving to present superb Cornish produce in an innovative way has been recognised. I am very proud of all the Sticky Prawn team."
