UPDATE: The truck had been moved to the side of the road by 3.30pm and traffic is now able to move past it.
---
The driver of a long-wheelbase flat bed truck found himself in difficulties in the Greenbank area of Falmouth this afternoon.
His truck became stuck after coming down Symons Hill, well known for its steep gradient.
It then failed to make a right turn on to North Parade/Stratton Place.
Traffic is being directed away from the junction, as the truck can not be moved.
"It's come down the hill and it's too long," said an eyewitness from the Greenbank Hotel.
And after trying to reverse the vehicle back up the hill, "the back of the truck has got welded in to the road."
Devon and Cornwall Police said the truck got into trouble at 1.10pm. Cars can still squeeze past the obstruction, but buses are being diverted.
The company who owns the vehicle is responsible for its removal, a spokesman said.
Helen Mulhern and Lisa Cottrell from Eventy Marketing sent the picture at the top of this article.
"Avoid the road. Slight problem on the way to Falmouth," they said just before 2pm.
