A 15-year-old student from Truro’s Richard Lander School has been found dead in Scorrier.
Police and ambulance staff were called just before midnight last night, when they confirmed the boy had died.
Officers are now investigating the circumstances of the death but it is not being treated as suspicious.
The family have been informed, as has the school.
A file will be prepared by police and passed to the coroner.
The school have asked for privacy at this difficult time, but has released a brief statement.
Headteacher Steve Mulcahy said: “It is with deep sadness that I share the news of the death of a current student at Richard Lander School.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and our staff and student body at this most difficult time.”
