Firefighters were called out to Treen, Zennor this morning to help paramedics manouvre a casualty down narrow stairs.
Five firefighters from Penzance helped ambulance paramedics just after 8am, with the casualty immobilised on a spinal board on the first floor of a property.
Ambulance paramedics were unable to get the casualty down stairs due to a narrow stairwell.
Firefighters used small tools to remove the handrail from the stairs to allow the rigid spine board to be manoeuvred down to the ground floor.
Once on the ground floor firefighters also assisted paramedics in removing the casualty to a land Ambulance.
