A woman from Helston has received a 2 month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, in respect of a housing benefit fraud totalling £19,544.60. She was also ordered to pay a Victim Surcharge of £80.
Christine Frances (66) of Crowntown, Helston pleaded guilty at Truro Magistrates Court on Friday 27 September 2013 to one count of benefit fraud of failing to promptly report to Cornwall Council that she no longer had a rental liability.
The overpaid benefits are being recovered from Mrs Frances by Cornwall Council separately from this Court action.
