Threemilestone Post Office is to be refurbished, with the company saying it will create a more modern environment for customers and allow increased opening hours.

The branch in Hugus Road will continue to have three serving positions – a mixture of two traditional counter positions and a Post Office serving point at the retail counter – although the shop will be more open plan.

The branch will also now open Monday to Saturday between 8.30am and 5.30pm. This is an increase of eight hours a week, with the office open earlier each morning and remaining open on Saturday afternoons.

To allow refurbishment work to take place the branch will be closed from Friday, October 18 and then reopen on Saturday, October 26 at 8.30am.

While the closure takes places the closest branches will be Chacewater Post Office in Fore Street, Chacewater and Truro Post Office at High Cross, Truro.

Will Russell, Post Office regional network manager, said: “The modernisation is part of a major investment programme to convert the Post Office network to new-style branches and this investment, the largest in the history of the Post Office, marks a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
