Families who have suffered the loss of a baby can take comfort at a remembrance service being held in Truro.

This will take place on Sunday, October 13 at 2pm in The Lady of the Portal and St Piran Church.

Hosted by the Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust’s pastoral care and maternity unit teams, all parents and extended family members are able to take the opportunity to remember a child. Following the service there will be a balloon release and refreshments.

Senior midwife Karen Stoyles said: “The service is a time for people who have shared similar experiences to come together and support one and other.

“For those who wish to, it is a time to pause, to talk and to remember those precious lives alongside others who can relate so closely to their own feelings.”

The simple service is available to all who have lost a baby during pregnancy, at birth or afterwards, either in recent times or perhaps many years ago.
