Helston 5pts Old Public Oaks 22pts Helston met Old Public Oaks from Plymouth in the EDF Junior Vase Cup competition and went down to a disappointing 22 to five points defeat.

Although they were in touch at half time at 5-all due to an unconverted try by flanker Ivon Lawson, the home side fell asleep for 15 minutes and conceded three quick tries which proved their undoing.

Despite a late rally they were not able to convert any possession into points and lost 22-5.

Also Helston 2nds played at home to St Day and were unlucky to lose 19-7 to a strong visiting outfit.

This Saturday, December 16, sees Helston return to league action in their last Cornwall One game before the Christmas break.

The visitors will be Stithians and the home side will be looking to gain points following a drawn game in the previous encounter.

The kick off is 2.30 pm and all supporters are welcome.

The next scheduled 1st XV game after this date is the annual Boxing Day fixture against the President's XV with kick off off at 11 pm on December 26. All are welcome since this will be the first time that this memorable fixture will be hosted at the new clubhouse facility.

CAMBORNE u11 35pts HELSTON u11 19pts Helston travelled to Camborne on Sunday morning and despite the poor weather both teams tried to play open rugby, with Camborne being the deserved winners.

Try scorers for Helston were Peter Hort, Jake Woodley, Tommy Phillips. Two tries were converted by Matthew Pascoe.

CAMBORNE u9 35pts HELSTON u9 15pts On a wet, miserable day, Helston competed well against senior club opposition.

The score line could have been worse, but for the tackle commitment of all the Helston players. All three Helston tries came from players wrestling the ball out of mauls near the line.

Try scorers were Jake Bowers, Jake Boulton and Sam Bisson.

The remainder of the team were Jordon Retallack, Adam Wilkinson, Charlie Williams, Liam Ashley, Ewan Davidson and Liam Tanner.
