Two generations of farmers joined on Friday for an annual charity fundraising evening in St Keverne.
The event involved members of Helston and St Keverne Young Farmers’ Club attending an evening of food and entertainment put on by the club’s advisory members – past members and parents of those now involved.
Taking place in St Keverne Village Hall, a generous buffet was provided by the women, including a vast array of desserts.
A harvest auction followed, in which Phil Hosking acted as auctioneer selling a large of amount of produce donated by those attending. This included a range of vegetables, plus gift baskets and other agricultural items. The evening ended with the traditional sketch performed by the men’s advisory committee, reducing the audience to fits of laughter.
By the end of the evening £500 had been raised for the two charities the club has chosen to support this year – the Farm Crisis Network and Cornwall Air Ambulance.
