A second attempt to win permission to build a Premier Inn near the entrance to Falmouth's Events Square has been refused by Cornwall councillors this afternoon.
Members of the council's central sub-area planning committee voted nine to four to reject the second scheme put forward by New Cornwall Developments. A previous scheme had been refused by the council and this decision was upheld on appeal last year.
Members of Falmouth and District Hotels' Association attended this afternoon's meeting in St Austell and are delighted at the outcome. "We are very pleased," said chairman, Shaun Davie.
