A man was rescued via a first floor window early this morning following a fire at a Goldsithney flat.
Firefighters used a triple extension ladder to reach the window, through which they climbed into the flat and carried the man to safety.
He was placed into the care of the ambulance service.
It was after a fire broke out in the three-storey building just before 2am.
A fire service spokesman described it as a small fire involving burnt food, which was out by the time the crews arrived.
