A motorist who was reported by security staff at the Tremough Campus late at night after he was seen driving the wrong way in a campus street told the police later he had no recollection of driving there.
Kevin Rex Collins, aged 32, of Langweath Estate, Mawgan, Helston, pleaded guilty at Truro Magistrates' Court to drink driving.
Alison May, for the CPS, said he had tested at 81 mcg, more than twice the limit. He told the police that after drinking wine he had not been feeling too well and was thinking about stopping to sleep in the car.
He had a previous conviction in 2001 for drink driving.
Collins told the magistrates he knew he should not have been driving. He said he was a senior worker at a day centre.
He was fined £275 and £112 costs and surcharge and banned from driving for 18 months.
