A deer has been rescued uninjured from a clay slurry pit near St Austell thanks to firefighters.
Crews from St Dennis, St Austell and Bodmin were called to Melbur Pit, an Imerys china clay pit , at Summercourt this morning at 10:30am.
Specialist rescue equipment was used and crews managed to pull the deer uninjured from the sticky clay slurry.
Firefighters wearing dry suits, life jackets and harnesses reached the deer using a 5metre and two 2metre inflatable rescue paths.
An RSPCA inspector also attended.
