The eucharist service on Sunday was celebrated by the Rev Heather Aston. The sermon, delivered by the Rector, the Rev Lesley Walker, was based on the gospel reading from St Matthew about the parable of the sower and the seed.

The first century images of a sower scattering seed by hand can still be relevant in today’s environment of efficiency. We should look beyond the productive and fertile field of the converted and share God’s generosity with everyone. There is always another way of cultivating the stoniest of ground to bear fruit. The lessons were read by Mary Wood and the Rev Heather Aston.

The service on Sunday at 11.15am will be morning prayer, which will include a baptism, taken by the Rev Heather Aston.

The very successful coffee morning on Saturday made just over £100 for church funds. Thank you to all those involved in organising, running, baking cakes and attending this event.
