Truro College’s training kitchen of Spires Restaurant has been the film set for the latest Rosamunde Pilcher adaptation, ‘Happy Go Lucky’ for a film crew from a German production company.

Directed by Dieter Kehler, the production is the 91st Rosamunde Pilcher drama that FFP New Media has made in Cornwall to date which is due for release in Germany in the autumn.

A quarter of a million German tourists visit Cornwall every year, to see various locations for the drama for themselves.

Truro College student Kim Evans who is being featured as an extra in the film said: “I’m just about to start my Level 3 Professional Cookery in September, the crew needed extras in the kitchen with knife skills. Yesterday we were filming for ten hours but there is only five minutes of footage at the end of it, but it’s an adventure.”

Spires Restaurant and barista bar will be open for business again in September.
