TWO students at Helston Community College have been offered places at Oxford and Cambridge universities.
Peter O'Brien, aged 17 of Carnkie, has been offered a place at Magdalene College at Cambridge University to study engineering.
He is currently taking A-levels in maths, further maths, physics and chemistry, having received four As for the subjects at AS-level.
He hopes to use his engineering degree to become involved in environmental engineering projects.
Matthew Kingston, aged 18 of Helston, has been offered a place at Jesus College at Oxford University, to study chemistry.
He is also currently taking A-levels in maths, further maths, physics and chemistry and gained four As at AS-level. His ambition is to use his degree to gain a career in chemical research.
Matthew said: "I'm very pleased. I also applied for Bath, Southampton, Warwick, Cardiff and Bristol. I'm hoping for a good experience, a good education and to meet new people."
He said he had not considered applying for a place at Oxford until a teacher suggested he give it a go.
