PLANS for this year's Vospers Tour of Cornwall Rally, which takes place on Friday and Saturday, March 23 and 24, are at an advanced stage and, with some minor alterations, the organisers are retaining the successful format of 2006.
Based at Pentewan Sands, near St Austell, the rally begins on Friday evening with two special stages in darkness within the Holiday Park itself.
Prior to the overnight halt, competitors will also complete a couple of stages at Boconnoc which will be run in the opposite direction from last year.
Saturday will provide a tough challenge with the route including a return to Carclew and a couple of extra runs at Predannack, prior to the finish and awards presentation at Pentewan Sands that evening.
The event, which is the largest of its type in the south west, is a qualifying round of the Legend Fires BTRDA Asphalt Rally Series and, as such, crews will be heading to the Duchy from all over the country.
Regulations will be available shortly and the entries secretary is Tracie Menear, tel 01208 269024.
