FALMOUTH 0 HELSTON COLTS 5

AFTER a first round bye, Helston began their quarter-final campaign against Falmouth in positive mood.

Within seconds of the kick off, mid fielder Josh Bosustow tested the Falmouth defence with a close effort. Shots quickly followed from Harry Kelsall and Joe Norman.

There was a lot of midfield play and on the rare occasions Falmouth did get past regular defenders Lee Padgeth and Joe Norman, goalie Matthew Quick saved the day with a couple of good stops and an excellent goal line save to deny Falmouth.

At the Falmouth end a barren patch of goals ended abruptly for Helston's top scorer Ashlee Garner who put away two fine goals in as many minutes to give Helston Colts a 2-0 lead.

A succession of subs from a large Falmouth squad couldn't give them the break they required to wear down a determined Helston. With two goals in the bag, Helston upped their game, passing the ball confidently around the pitch and putting pressure on Falmouth until the ball came to the feet of an excellent Josh Bosustow who scored a well-deserved goal.

Within minutes of the restart, a block by Padgeth in the Helston end led to some multi player build up play and Ashlee Garner scoring Helston's fourth.

Falmouth had their chances in the second half but to no avail. The closest they came was a deflection which came off the crossbar for a corner.

To finish off a good half for Helston Ashlee Garner picked up a loose ball in the Falmouth goal area and slotted away a well taken effort to take his goal tally to four.
