IN somewhat better weather the men at Mullion Golf Club turned out to play their Winter League Number Six on Sunday January.

The competition format was a Foursomes Stablford and Steve Beirne and partner Paul Marchant returned 41 points, beating Tony Bayliss and Bruce Carter on 39 points.

Results - Winners, S. Beirne and P. Marchant, 41pts; runners-up, A.W. Bayliss and B. Carter 39 pts (B.9).

Leading score L. Ashton, 39 pts.

The juniors of Mullion Golf Club had another good turn out on Saturday which included six new juniors that had progressed through the club's academy. Despite the very cold and windy conditions they were able to put their new found skills to the test on the first five holes of the main course.

The rest of the juniors played a team of three Stableford competition with the best two scores to count on each hole.

The winning team with 75 points were Oliver Hickey, Joe George and Sam Orchard. The runners-up were Oliver Bayliss, Ben Williams and Rebecca Pitt.

The winner of the 12-hole Black Tees competition was Ben Burrows and the winner of the Nine-Hole Black Tee competition was Craig Kimpton.
