It was good to welcome Margaret Flinders, one of our own worshipers, to take the service on Sunday morning, assisted by worship leader, Edna Angove.
The theme for the two-part sermon was “Knowing God – an image of God”. Mrs Flinders said that we could conjure up pictures of how we thought Jesus looked, but apart from God’s voice quoted at times in the Bible, no one had ever seen Him to know what he looked like. An excerpt from “You Raise Me Up” was played and Mrs Flinders read “Footsteps” by Margaret Fishback Powers, and a meditation by Helen Steiner Rice entitled “My God is no stranger”. Some well-known hymns were played by the organist, Betty Pascoe.
The evening service was led by Julie Swann, the District Children and Families Officer.
