Stopped by a police officer because he was driving fast after midnight at Penryn on October 19, a motorist who smelt of alcohol said he had not had anything to drink.
He failed a roadside screening test, and later registered 92mcg, nearly three times the limit.
At Truro Magistrates’ Court Peter Mark Blackburn, aged 28, of Greenwith Crescent, Greenwith Road, Perranwell Station, pleaded guilty to drink driving. He told magistrates he had alcohol issues but was getting help. He had a conviction for drink driving in 2008.
Blackburn was put under curfew five nights a week for six weeks, banned from driving for 40 months and told to pay £145 costs and surcharge.
