Fundraisers of all ages will be springing into action on Friday to support this year’s Children in Need appeal.
Youngsters at local primary schools will be getting into the spirit of things by ditching their uniforms, primarily in favour of super hero costumes while some businesses have also pledged to help.
Staff at Hawkins Motors of Penryn are inviting motorists to “get sudsy with Pudsey” as they repeat last year’s fundraiser, offering a car wash service at Sainsbury’s in Falmouth, which raised £1,200 in 2013. Between 10am and 4pm on Friday, staff will be offering to wash cars for £5, or as much as you’d like to donate.
Staff at NV Hairdressing in High Street will dress up as heroes and bake cakes for Children in Need. The team are no strangers to raising money for charity and have supported breast cancer and the Children’s Hospice South West in the past.
As well as baking cakes and dressing up on Friday, they will also be holding a raffle with some great prizes.
Salon owners Nikki and Kim said: “It should certainly make for an unusual day in the office.
We’ve had a great reaction from people so far, and would like to say a huge thank you to all those involved in the planning. For more details, contact Teresa at nvhairdressing@gmail.com.
