Members of Helston and St Keverne Young Farmers’ Club have enjoyed a busy week which included the start of rehearsals for their pantomime which will be held every Monday and Tuesday evenings at Balwest Chapel.
The club also held its annual bonfire party at Withan farm, by permission of Mr and Mrs B Hosken, when a great evening was enjoyed by all. There was a barbecue and soup to complement the firework display Saturday brought the indoor sports round at Truro High School for Girls when members got involved with a number of activities including Kwik cricket and frisbee. The team worked hard and tried their best but sadly just missed out on the top three, so no final this year.
This week club night is at St Martin Hall, when members will be making items for the YFC craft classes ready for the Helston Fatstock Show next Monday, November 17, at Francis Farm - all welcome.
The following week’s club night, on November 20, will be new members evening at Trewennack Chapel, and filled with “sensible games and brilliant fun.” A spokesman said: “So, if you are thinking about coming to a brilliant club, having a fantastic time and are aged ten to 26, then please come along to find out more.”
