The cold weather is set to return to the South West today, however despite a sharp drop in temperatures Cornwall should avoid the worst of the chilly conditions.
While there has been a cloudy and mild start to the day with outbreaks of rain, locally heavy and squally, it is set to clear, with much colder and brighter conditions later today with fresh to strong northwesterly winds. Maximum Temperature 10 °C.
It will be a cold and blustery night with rain and sleet showers and snow possible over the hills and moors. Frost is unlikly to reach down as far as Cornwall however the temperature could fall close to zero.
Thursday will be a cold and blustery day with sunny spells and wintry showers, these will be most frequent in the west. Maximum Temperature 6 °C.
