Green Party Members in the Truro and Falmouth constituency are going to the polls to elect a new prospective parliamentary candidate for the upcoming general election after Sharron Kelsey backed out of the race.
The party says that in the constituency there has been a "massive surge in membership", up from 72 in March 2014 to 600 in March 2015.
The party says Sharron Kelsey withdrew her candidacy for personal reasons, but will continue as a key member of the campaign team.
Steve Angove, a long serving Green Party Member from Penryn said: “The local Green Party appreciates Sharron’s reasons for making this difficult decision and wishes her well. The Party is now in the process of electing a new candidate and will announce the result on March 12th.”
“The Green Party is fully committed to contesting the Truro & Falmouth Constituency.
