Visitors are ending their Easter break on a high as temperatures are set to rise to 14 to 15oC in bright sunshine
Parts of the south west are set to bask in spring sunshine, with the mercury rising as much as 10C (50F) higher than what is normally forecast for April.
And the good weather looks to continue for the rest of the week as high pressure ensures conditions in most areas remain settled.
Met Office meteorologist Alex Burkill: "We are going to hold on to that high pressure which is going to keep things settled. We should see plenty more decent spells of sunshine," he said.
The average UK temperature for April is 11.4C (52F) and for England is 12.4C, according to the Met Office.
Many holidaymakers are expected to return from their long weekend breaks today, with a round 16 million cars estimated to have been on the roads over the bank holiday break.
