Super Nanny Jacqui Quinn has been selected to win a hair makeover, in recognition of her outstanding support of both the children and parents she meets through her work.

The competition, run on social media by 26-year old freelance hairdresser Sarah Tracey, attracted many nominations, but Jacqui, 48, was a clear winner and thoroughly deserving of the special treat.

“Everyone knows her,” said Sarah, whose children attend school and nursery in Ponsanooth where Jacqui works. “She is at every club, group and event in the village with a group of her small charges at all times, and always puts the needs of those she is caring for before her own. She is a true inspiration to us all, a great friend and genuinely lovely lady.”

Jaqui said: “I was so overwhelmed by the nomination, it made me cry. The people I work for are so kind, and the village is like one big, happy family. I never realised they thought so much of what I do.”

Jacqui, who lives in Redruth, has been working with children for 20 years. “I have looked after so many in that time I can’t possibly remember all of their names” she said. “But one thing is clear; I have loved every one of them.”

Sarah has been in hairdressing since leaving school, and now runs her own mobile business Sarah Scissorhands in Falmouth, Penryn and surrounding areas. “I wanted to do this to give something back to the local community,” she said. “I meet such wonderful people in the course of my business and it’s my chance to bring a little surprise into someone’s life.”
