Ladies from the legal services client team at Cornwall Council recently completed Children’s Hospice South West’s £50 Challenge and made a whopping £592.32.
The £50 Challenge is a corporate initiative being run by CHSW where teams in businesses and workplaces are given £50 to grow as legally and ethically as possible in order to try to make as much money for the charity over three months.
The council's legal team ran a tuck shop in their office which proved very popular with colleagues. They also made bacon sandwiches and cream teas to sell, ran a Wimbledon sweepstake and lotto ball, organised a bake sale and wear bright day, name the bear competition and sold hand-made cards. All of which raised £592.32.
Championed by Dragon’s Den investor, Deborah Meaden the challenge is all about being creative, innovative and using your entrepreneurial skills to grow the start-up investment of £50 as much as possible for the charity.
Sarah Stott, corporate partnerships fundraiser for CHSW, said “The team from Cornwall Council legal services client team did absolutely fantastically in the £50 Challenge, they showed a lot of creativity and were wise to reinvest in what was working for them best. I would like to thank everyone who was involved in raising such a brilliant total for our hospice.”
