Penryn College was awash with familiar faces as the class of 2015 returned for their formal graduation ceremony.

Students arrived to a drinks reception, mingling with friends and their old teachers before heading into the hall to begin the ceremony.

Students from each of the four houses were called to the stage and were presented with a certificate of their GCSE results – which showed the best progress in the college’s history.

The college also welcomed the Mayor of Penryn, Mark Snowdon and his wife Diane as well as guest speaker Thom Hunt.

Heads of department from each subject then awarded students certificates for standout work in their respective subjects.

There was special recognition for students who made the most progress: Janna Richardson and Freddie Burt, and Katie Lucke, Niamh Lister and Clara Husbands were recognised for outstanding academic achievement.

Students also had the chance to reminisce together as a year group one last time, as they looked back at video packages of their prom at Merchants Manor earlier in the year and reflected on their five years at Penryn College.
