Ted Gundry, the well-loved radio broadcaster from Porthleven, has passed away at the age of 81.
The veteran broadcaster, who spent many years as the voice of BBC Radio Cornwall, of which he was a founder member, was also a tresured member of the Helston and Porthleven communities.
He served as a governor of Helston Community College, and was president of Porthleven Gig Club, as well a former treasurer and secretary of the Cornish Pilot Gig Association and a bard of Gorsedh Kernow.
Colleagues at the BBC said Ted was "a true master of the art of the radio interview," while BBC Radio Cornwall presenter Laurence Reed called him "an icon of radio broadcasting."
