A Leedstown man was taken to the ground by police in Truro after threatening to stab people on Lemon Quay Piazza, a court has heard.
People on the piazza were upset by James Davis' shouting and swearing and aggression towards staff at Wetherspoons, and he was reported to have been spitting at anything and everything before being taken down by police.
Davis, 25, whose address was given as care of Rodwill Close, Leedstown, pleaded guilty at Truro Magistrates Court to being drunk and disorderly, and to a bail offence.
Alison May, for the CPS, said although Davis had told the police “I have got knives”, which led them to heavily restrain him, no weapons were found on him.
His solicitor Mark Charnley said he had an alcohol problem which gave him fits and blackouts. He was a street person, drinking too much and not helping himself, although others were trying to help him.
He was fined £100 with £30 charges.
