Villagers in Mabe have supported a number of events held to raise money for Dementia UK (Cornwall) over the past year and turned out again on Saturday at the final event for 2016 - a coffee and crafts morning.
Anne Salomé, who was well supported by an amazing team of assistants without whom it could not go ahead, masterminded the event. "The weather was kind to us and the event was well attended by the village, friends and family," said Anne. "The atmosphere in the Community Hall was vibrant and reverberated with animated chatter."
There were a variety of stalls, including crafts, cakes, a cake raffle, bric-a-brac and books. There was also a raffle, the prizes for which were all kindly donated.
During the year there have been three other fund raising events for Dementia UK. On a beautiful day in the ,summer June Goodman hosted a wonderful barbecue; Anne organised an extremely successful 3D card workshop and lunch and, despite the weather, a cream tea which was enjoyed by many. Between the four events and several donations, a total of £2,030 has been raised for Dementia UK (Cornwall).
