The appearance of some of Falmouth School’s male staff members may not have been what the pupils are used to over the last month as they sported facial hair in support of Movember,
Founded in 2003, the Movember Foundation encourages men to grow moustaches to help raise awareness of and money to support men's health and to stop men dying too young. Men around the world get involved and this year the group from Falmouth School joined in too.
The team sported their moustaches, which were grown in various shapes and forms, all month and managed to raise £692 for the cause. Director of leadership Mr Wallis said: “It’s been a fantastic effort from all of our staff who have got involved and to see a figure raised like that is just brilliant. Ultimately, it’s a bit of fun for everyone involved, but the reason behind it and the message we’re trying to give is a serious one. Hopefully our efforts have helped contribute to raising awareness for men’s health.”
