The festive season well and truly began for the children of Cury on Sunday when they were thrown a Christmas party ahead of the switching on of the village lights.
More than 50 youngsters from the area attended the event at Cury Village Hall, enjoying a party tea before each one was given gift by Father Christmas.
Entertainment was provided by Phil Greet and a team of helpers from the hall committee, who also provided the food.
Afterwards everyone headed outside for the switching on of the festive lights display, with Helston mayor Gillian Geer invited the carry out the honour.
She told those gathered that her visit brought back memories of when she used to go to the hall for pantomime rehearsals.
