A 24-year-old man was seriously injured after being involved in a hit-and-run collision in Newquay on New Year's Eve.
Emergency services were called at 9.45pm following the collision between the male pedestrian and a car at Mount Wise car park
The victim, from Honiton, was reportedly thrown over the offending vehicle and was treated at the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Treliske for injuries to his hip, knee and a suspected fracture of his eye socket.
A Skoda Octavia was later located abandoned in Treforda Road and recovered by police in connection with the incident.
