The Fox Atrium at Falmouth University has been shortlisted for Education Project of the Year in the Michelmores Property Awards, which celebrates outstanding property and construction projects in Somerset, Bristol, Devon, Dorset and Cornwall.

The Fox Atrium brought together a collection of buildings by enclosing a former courtyard under a lightweight, thermally efficient roof. Rather than replacing the existing structures, the innovative design of the atrium has ensured the re-use and re-purpose of the existing buildings, while creating a modern, eye-catching space in keeping with the creative nature of the university.

The Fox Atrium now comprises shared flexible work and break-out spaces, a café and internal courtyard – to become the new heart of the university's Woodlane Campus.

Now in their fifteenth year, the annual awards showcase and celebrate the best of the South West's property and construction industry. The winners will be announced at an awards dinner on June 15 at the University of Exeter, presented by comedian and actor Marcus Brigstocke.
