A clean sweep of grey now graces the front of Helston's Grylls Monument after a pair of two-tone bollards were replaced.
A series of new granite pillars were put up guarding the landmark at the bottom of Coinagehall Street when the area received a complete overhaul last autumn.
There were complaints from some quarters, however, after two of the bollards showed a clear 50-50 vertical split between a grey granite and brown granite.
Helston Town Council, which was behind the project, received a letter from member of the public Neil Williams describing this granite as "ugly, second grade" stone - something that was vehemently refuted, although visually the issue remained.
As a result, councillors agreed that the two offending bollards should be replaced and now every bollard matches.
