Kathryn Godddard with St Austell Soroptimists' joint president Mary Weston
Kathryn Goddard from Ponsanooth, a student at Truro College, is to head off soon to Sierra Leone where she will spend 12 weeks with a party of 20 young people as part of the International Citizens scheme. They will work alongside 20 young people from the African country.
The ladies of St Austell Soroptimists helped Kathryn raise £800 she needs to take part in the Y Care International programme. The members were impressed to hear Kathryn is about to undertake a sponsored triathlon, a ten mile kayak, five mile swim and a 20 mile cycle ride. Kathryn hopes to go on to study nursing.
