Cats Protection’s Cornwall Adoption Centre in Carnon Downs is holding an open day to mark the start of summer and encourage families to get outside and do something fun together.

Running from 11am until 4pm on Saturday, July 1, it promises to be a fun day out for all the family. Activities on the day will include a dog show hosted by K9 Crusaders, face painting, donkey rides and bouncy castles. Stalls will include the Monkey Sanctuary, British Hen Welfare Trust and Guide Dogs for the Blind to name a few. There will also be a vintage car display and a competition to guess how many balloons are inside a BMW Mini.

Visitors to the centre in Point Road will also get the chance to look around the adoption centre and meet many of the cats looking for their forever home. Cats like Luna, a former stray who loves cuddles and being the centre of attention, will be available to see.

Centre manager, Libby Jepson, said: “The event promises to be brilliant fun and I hope many local residents will come out to support us, especially as they will be raising much needed funds to give unwanted cats like Luna a second chance in life. The open day is free for both adults and children and parking will be available.”
