A new sculpture created by Falmouth-based Ben Barrell has been installed outside the gallery at Tremenhere Sculpture Gardens, near Penzance.
The sculpture, entitled Conversation, features three pieces arranged to encourage visitors to sit, to rest and to engage in conversation.
The Ben Barrell Pendeen Pebble Seats can be found at locations all over the country and around the world, but this is the first time they have been seen at Tremenhere Sculpture Gardens.
Ben said: "I have admired Tremenhere Sculpture Gardens and the amazing work that Neil Armstrong has done in building this magical place. It’s an honour to have my work here alongside that of many other sculptors I admire."
Neil, owner and collector at Tremenhere, added: "We collect the best work we can to display here at Tremenhere Sculpture Gardens. Ben Barrell’s Pebble Seats are beautiful pieces, and we are delighted to have them on display beside the gallery."
Ben’s work appears in Singapore, Shanghai, Dubai and Mauritius, and is inspired by Cornwall’s coastline and landscape.
Closer to home, Ben’s Pico Pebble Seats can also be seen at Newlyn Art Gallery. Angie and Pete Butler commissioned them to celebrate the life of their daughter Merryn, and they are placed in the peaceful garden behind the gallery.
