A promotional campaign has been launched to raise awareness of Truro’s attractions and draw in shoppers and visitors in the run-up to Christmas.

Truro City Council and Visit Truro are once again be collaborating with Truro Business Improvement District (BID) on the campaign, with specialist support from two Truro-based businesses - marketing agency Wolf Rock and event management experts Live Events South West.

The Our Great Little Festive City campaign is spearheaded by advertisements throughout the county and a 64-page winter edition of the Truro Guide, both designed and produced by Wolf Rock. The latest edition of the insider’s guide, which has been published every four months since January 2016, features bumper sections on Christmas events, shopping and where to go for nights out in the city. Forty thousand copies of the guide will be distributed across Cornwall, including 10,000 direct to households.

Top events in Truro’s festive calendar will receive a push from the campaign. The new Winter Gift Fayre, produced by Live Events South West, will fill Lemon Quay with high-quality gift ideas from December 12 to 17. Late-night shopping on Wednesday evenings starts on November 29, and festive food stalls will set up shop on Boscawen Street from 12pm on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Events get under way on November 22 with Truro’s traditional midwinter lantern festival City of Lights and Christmas lights switch-on.

Abi Steel from Visit Truro said: “We’re delighted to be teaming up with other Truro stakeholders and businesses to create a festive campaign for the city to reach shoppers and visitors. We hope the new Winter Gift Fayre, seasonal advertising campaign and latest edition of the Truro Guide will help raise the profile of the city and encourage residents and visitors from across the county to make the best use of Truro’s vibrant shopping scene, eateries, bars and entertainment venues.”
