A former industrial site has been transformed into modern, affordable housing for Cornish residents, thanks to a project delivered by Mi-space Living.

Creating ten new flats for people in Redruth, Mi-space has redeveloped the brownfield site, which had previously been used for mining activities and was also the former home of a bacon factory.

The build at Pengover Parc for client Coastline Housing includes six two-bedroom and four one-bedroom flats across a two-storey building, with local residents already moving into their new homes.

Mi-space is part of the Midas Group, one of the UK's largest independent construction and property services providers.

Ian Farrell, divisional director of Mi-space, said: “We are delighted to have handed over these ten new affordable homes, built for local people and to have completed a project which brings significant positive benefits locally.

“Providing industry leading, and award-winning, customer service is at the core of what we do and we are very proud of the high quality finish achieved and relationships built with Coastline and the Redruth community throughout this project.”

Mi-space brought an innovative approach to meeting the challenges of the site and the build and worked hard to keep the client and residents fully informed and updated throughout the development, leading to glowing satisfaction reports from Coastline.

Anna Sheppard, senior development officer at Coastline Housing, said: “We’re really pleased to see this regeneration project completed in the centre of Redruth. It’s transformed an area that was previously going to waste and I have no doubt that people will take pride in the new building we’ve developed there."
