A call was received by Cornwall Fire Brigade at 00:29 this morning reporting an explosion in a premises.
Posting on Twitter @ZazaPosts said: "Gas explosion in Carnkie wendron, have the bungalow was blown off . Man trapped under rubble, carried out by Martin Mitchell."
Neighbour Brian Kneebone told BBC Cornwall: “We just heard a very loud bang and got out of the bed and looked out of the bedroom window and we saw flames from the bungalow.
“What used to be my daughter’s bedroom, the window was broken. I’ve got to scrape up the glass from the garden at the minute.
"Neighbours from the adjoining bungalow, which is part of the same building, apparently they were in the bed and the wardrobe blew in on them because the wall between the two bungalows gave way.
“They’re ok, they’re staying with another neighbour overnight at the moment."
Crews from Helston, Falmouth and Tolvaddon Community Fire Stations used two breathing apparatus, one main jet and a safety jet to put out the subsequent blaze.
The fire was put by 5.20am. A fire investigation will take place during daylight hours later in the morning.
