Falmouth's first ever yoga festival raised a total of £672 which has been donated to the charity Heart Research UK.

Organised by the Falmouth Yoga Space and held at its premises in Killigrew Street, the festival, named the Bhakti Fest, proved a great success with almost all the tickets selling out before the event.

The money raised came from ticket sales, raffle tickets and donations from supporters who were unable to make it to the festival.

One of its organisers, Rebecca ‘Bess’ Fox, said: "The Bhakti Fest was everything we hoped for and more. There was such a strong sense of community, throughout our love-infused yoga classes and workshops. The studio was buzzing – everyone is still talking about it in class.

“We had a wonderful time raising money for Heart Research UK. We hoped to have inspired the local community get involved in both raising money for charity as well as yoga.”

Rachel Brooke, community engagement officer at Heart Research UK, said: “The women at the Falmouth YogaSpace are so inspirational.

“Heart Research UK is always grateful and proud to support local events such as this. Research works and the money raised will help go towards the prevention, treatment and cure of heart disease.”
