The funeral service for father of two and popular footballer Martin Day, is to be held at Budock Parish Church at 2.30pm next Thursday, March 29. His wife Clair has asked all those attending to "wear colour to celebrate his life."
Martin, who had played for several local clubs including Falmouth Town, Penryn Athletic and Mawnan over the years, died on March 8 at the age of 36. He leaves his wife and their two children, Emily and Jack; his mother, Yvonne and two brothers Steve and Jamie.
His funeral service will be followed by private committal, but all his friends and family are invited to the Falmouth Hotel from 3.30pm onwards.
Family flowers only are being requested, but donations in lieu of flowers which will go to Penhaligon's Friends can be made through the retiring collection.
