Members of the Falmouth Support Group for Cornwall Hospice Care were given a few culinary tips from two professionals at their latest fundraiser on Thursday.

Around 50 of the group descended on the Greenbank Hotel in Falmouth where they were dazzled by a demonstration given by two of the hotel's chefs, Nick Hodges and Paul Beasley.

Before their eyes, Nick and Paul produced two courses. First up was stuffed place with seasonal vegetables which was followed by rhubarb in chocolate cases.

In addition to the cookery demonstration, there was also a raffle and items for sale, which when combined raised a total of £635.65 for Cornwall Hospice Care, which supports St Julia's and Mount Edgcumbe hospices.

The Falmouth support group is one of the most successful and has raised more than half a million pounds since it was formed 26 years ago. It's next big fundraising event will be its Wimbledon-themed garden party at the Penmorvah Manor Hotel in Budock on June 6.
