CORNWALL Air Ambulance has come to the aid of a man on Gyllyngvase Beach this afternoon.
Paramedics administered emergency treatment for around 20 minutes near the wall at the north end of the beach, before stretchering them into the helicopter just after 4pm.
A spokesman for the RNLI said that the man suffered breathing difficulties on the sand, having earlier had a swim in the sea.
Two lifeguards, who are trained as first responders, provided immediate casualty care before paramedics arrived.
Cornwall Air Ambulance were quickly on the scene and flew the patient to Treliske Hospital, Truro.
