A warning has been issued to residents of Redruth and Truro following reports of rogue traders offering gardening work.
Excessive amounts have been charged for little to no work.
To prevent more of these cases from happening, police have advised that the public do not agree to work offered by unsolicited doorstep callers, as the risks are high.
It is also recommended that people take time to get recommendations from people they know, get quotes from reputable, trusted businesses and decide for themselves who they want to use.
Any concerns or suspicions about rogue traders should be reported to the police.
To do this, phone 101 if non urgent quoting log 792 July 1 2018, or 999 if immediate/or a crime is taking place.
Police have requested that this information is passed on.
