Legendary trip-hop pioneers Morcheeba put on a mesmerising performance last night in a sold out Sundowner Session at Lusty Glaze Beach.

The British band brought their sultry and charismatic style to the cove on Sunday July 22.

A crowd of more than 2,500 people gathered in the late afternoon sunshine to hear their chilled out classic favourites and new material from the trio’s latest album Blaze Away.

After the show venue owner Tracey Griffiths said: “There’s no better place for their laid-back, summery sound than a Cornish beach at sunset and the crowd absolutely loved it, singing along and dancing on the sand!”

Local duo Echo Town supported the chart-topping headliners, along with crowd favourite and Jurassic 5 member Chali 2na with Krafty Kuts on the decks.

Lusty Glaze was recently awarded the No.1 spot by The Times for ‘Most picturesque live music venues in the UK’ and Britain’s Best Beach 2017 by The Sunday Times.

New for 2018, the events include afternoon tea and a live jazz performance from local musicians at £15 per person. The events will take place on 29th July and 12th August, with live jazz music from 3-4.30pm.

Lusty Glaze also hosts weekly live music events, which are free to attend and feature local musicians. The next sundownner set is The Sinking of the Good Ship Rosa tonight (Wednesday).
